The follow-up Computational Sciences Master Study Program is a unique field of study in the Czech Republic focused on the education of experts in the field of supercomputing and exploitation of high performance computing in solving computationally demanding tasks in applied sciences as well as technology. Within the study program, students will become familiar with various architectures of the current supercomputers, learn to program parallel applications or design effective parallel algorithms. The study programme is ensured by IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center together with the VŠB – TUO Departments of Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Applied Mechanics, and Hydromechanics and Hydraulic Equipment as well as the Nanotechnology Centre. IT4Innovations participates within the PRACE international infrastructure allowing students to use the most powerful supercomputers in Europe. The diploma thesis topics are selected with respect to the opportunity for students to be involved in research teams' projects and participate in valuable scientific outcomes.
